Il Commendatore · a working brand

Build where the social value is the point.

A personal brand built on a simple wager: that doing good and doing well are not opposites, but the same work done honestly.

Community · Dignity · Build · Judgment · Honesty · Momentum

Mission

To build communities, programs, and applications where providing value and doing good is the business model — not the marketing.

Philosophy taught me to think clearly and to communicate. Entrepreneurship taught me to ship and implement. I work alongside AI every day, and I bring judgment to it. The goal is never the tool — it's the person the tool is meant to serve.

Operating principles

Six rules I run on.

01 — Community

Find people, show up consistently, and build something that outlasts you.

02 — Dignity

Treat the work, and the people it touches, as ends, never just means.

03 — Build

Move fast and think carefully. Use the best tools. Ship something real.

04 — Judgment

AI is a lever, not a compass. The human calls the direction.

05 — Honesty

Say what you mean. Do what you said. Under-promise; over-deliver.

06 — Momentum

No failure, only feedback. Keep moving until the thing exists.

What I stand for

The non-negotiables.

🌱

Value first

If the product only works because it extracts from people, it isn't a product — it's a trap. I build the kind that pays its own rent.

🧭

Judgment over speed

Speed matters, but direction decides whether you arrive somewhere worth being. I slow down to choose, then move fast to ship.

🤝

People are the work

Communities aren't audiences and users aren't metrics. The relationship is the outcome; everything else is a side effect.

🛠️

Tools serve the maker

AI, Obsidian, NotebookLM, Claude Code — I use the best tools I can find, and I stay the one responsible for the result.

The essays

Things I'm still thinking through.

Every figure carries a named source. Every entry has a section for what is still contested, because the honest version of most interesting questions is that they are not settled.

The Press is the reading half of this site: what I have read, what I think it means, and the places where the people who know most still disagree. Every essay carries its sources by name, and corrections are appended rather than quietly patched.

Set in EB Garamond and IBM Plex Mono. The picks, the positions and the errors are mine. The essays live in the codebase, not on a third-party platform — they are edited in src/data/pressBooks.js and ship with the site.
